[Personality]

Jason has been known to have issues with anger since even before Batman dropped into his life. It’s unsurprising given the path things had taken during his younger years. Life has not been kind to the young man, especially given that Gotham isn’t exactly the land of sunshine and rainbows. But the rage he has carried all these years is probably his greatest weakness. Batman observed it during Jason’s time as robin, witnessing just how full of anger the boy was, watching as he displayed a much more brutal side than his previous partner while fighting crime. It became a pretty big concern as it could have (and since has) blinded him to changes in a situation around him, or prevented him from catching on to a possible trap until it’s too late.

His emotions have always been a strong factor when it comes to quick decisions or reactions to various situations that crop up. It was this very weakness that lead him to running off to Ethiopia during his time as Robin after discovering his mother was still alive without batman, never thinking about the dangers that could appear and thus unprepared for the trap waiting for him that lead to his untimely demise.

(It’s okay, this robin had a spare life anyway, apparently)

Upon his return from the grave, Jason was still as angry as ever inside. The anger had simply found a few new target to be directed on. Those being Batman (And by default the rest of the Bat Clan) and his murderer, the Joker. It took a very long time, and a wise old woman (that could kick his ass) to help him realize that terrorizing Gotham with his ideals on how to control and win the ongoing war on crime, or seeking out revenge for his death wasn't necessarily the best use of his time and talents. He has since learned to manage his anger and begun working towards letting go of the past that continues to haunt him to this day. Instead he takes his anger and pain and channels it into helping people and dealing with the scum of the world.

He carries a lot of guilt over the things he’s done since coming back from the dead, and doesn't exactly know how to even go about apologizing for the people he’s hurt or the messes he’s made. Honestly he knows there probably isn't a way, and he doesn't blame anyone for not wanting to trust him or let go of the things he’s done. Trying to(and almost succeeding at) killing someone is kind of a big deal, but he’s still trying to be a better person than he has been, whether he finds redemption or not along the way. He still has a much harsher way of dealing with criminals than the rest of the Bat clan, but he isn't nearly as brutal as he started out, and will only take a life if it seems like the only way to resolve an issue and no other option presents itself. His relationships will likely always be strained, but both sides of the conflict with his past are at least trying to come to terms with the other and accept things for how they are.

Which hasn't been easy, it was the general belief that Jason's mind was rendered quite insane after his dip in the Lazarus pit when he returned to the land of the living. Many believed him to be a rabid dog, whose actions are that of an unstable, damaged mind that needed help. When in all honesty, he has very rational, well thought out reasons for all of the things he has done and the decisions he's made. Sure, he has a few psychological issues that could probably stand to be addressed by a professional, but at the end of the day they’re nowhere near as bad as everyone seemed to think. Jason knows the difference between right or wrong, he just has a strong belief in the idea that sometimes the ends do justify the means. He gets results that even Batman can’t deny at this point, even if he doesn't agree with his old protégé's actions.

While Jason can come off as a very black and white, average street thug at times, he’s actually quite intelligent. He has a very tactical mind, and a wide range of knowledge concerning many different subjects that he uses to his advantage. He has had the privilege of being educated by the best, before and after his death/return from the grave. He can work out a strategy on the fly, and adapt fairly quickly when things turn in unexpected directions as long as nothing is clouding his judgment. His plans still border on a fine line between sound logic and crazy, but anyone who knows him well knows they can probably trust him to get the situation resolved to the best end and hopefully get everyone out alive.

Jason is a stubborn man, especially when he believes he’s right, or that he’s caught on to something that needs to be dealt with in some way, shape or form. He can be like a dog with a bone and wont let go of something until he feels it’s truly over and done with. This is quite obvious when you consider how long it took him to start letting go of the past and learning to move forward with his life.

Jason can be a little rough around the edges and lacks a lot of the social graces that his predecessor Dick Grayson has, but he has a certain kind of charm or charisma of his own. He can be a fun guy to be around when he isn't in the middle of taking down drug cartels or putting and end to some nut-job's plot to kill a lot of people or bring more chaos to a world already infested with way too much crazy. At the end of the day he’s still human, and he knows how to relax when there’s time.
Sure, it’s not often, but there have been people who can draw that side out of him. He can be charming when he wants to be, and while he’s not full of (bad) puns and jokes like some people he knows, he has a certain level of sarcasm and wit that can be pleasantly disarming. Those who get close enough to him can see he’s not really the horrible person that the world has gotten the impression, just a man with a troubled past and a wish to stand up and do his part to help the world.

Unsurprisingly, he does tend to draw people to him without really meaning to. He has tried to go it alone a lot in his life, but he’s found himself on a team more than once despite this. His current group known as ‘The Outlaws’ made up of a recovering alcoholic with a penchant for inventing gadgets or new kinds of arrows, and an alien princess that escaped enslavement (Oh and she's also his predecessor's ex, oops). Unfortunately Jason still has trouble remembering that his friends are there to help when he needs it, that it works both ways. For all the times he’s had their back, he often runs off alone to deal with his own problems instead of asking for the help that he might need.

The final point worth mentioning, he has a very interesting outlook on the idea of love. He believes it's 'A load of bull to think friendship and romance as being different'. He believes both are simply variations of the same love and a desire to be close to particular people to different degrees.

[Abilities]

Martial Arts: Jason has studied and become skilled with several fighting styles, having been noted to have mastered Aikido, Ninjutsu, Capoeira, Karate, Savate, Tae Kwon Do, and Kickboxing. While not as graceful as his predecessor in the 'Bat Family', he is quite a force to be reckoned with. Jason can fight on par with both Bruce and Dick Grayson, and is decidedly more vicious in a fight. He doesn't hold back if he feels there is a reason to go the extra mile. Even if the extra mile might mean taking a life.

Marksman: Jason is talented with various weapons, but he is most often seen wielding various kinds of firearms.

All Blades: Jason has also been seen to wield twin swords known as the 'All Blades'. He seems to have picked them up during his time spent training with the 'All Caste' a secret group of warrior monks that he was introduced to by Talia Al Ghul. They have proven useful when fighting the supernatural entities known as 'The Untitled', but the blades must be activated by drawing his own blood first.

Tricks & Traps: Jason has been known to set various kinds of traps and deceive his enemies into thinking they have perfect control of a situation or playing field then turning it on their head. He knows how to wire devastating explosives and set up other various kinds of unpleasant surprises for his enemies.

Meditation: It's worth noting that Jason also meditates, having been taught by the All Caste to do so. If walked in on, he has visible glowing markings across his chest and down his abdomen. He claims it's about finding the darkest part of your soul, communing with it, and accepting it with intentions of doing good with it instead of bad.

[Canon Element]

Jason's 'Red Hood' outfit, along with the all blades if that's alright!

Jason's 'Red Hood' outfit is actually made in part out of one of Dick Grayson's old Nightwing costumes, given to him by Starfire after she fished him out of the ocean and nursed him back to health. It features a red bat emblem on the chest, various hidden tech and weapons stowed in pockets of the suit.

Tech revealed thus far have been a grappling hook, and metallic glider wings. His 'Hood' is a hard helmet that encases his entire head, made of some sort of heavy-duty metallic material that is apparently impervious to knives (Though during the Night of Owls he was surprised to find one of the Talon knives was able to break it). It has white slits for eyes, and houses various functions such as a retinal aiming device for his grappling hook, and likely various other useful programs. (Feel free to ask me to tone this down, I don't mind!')

The 'All Blades' are two long thin twin blades that Jason picked up during his time with the All Caste, they take on a fiery glow when activated by drawing his own blood. (I don't mind if you want them left behind either.)

[Affection] Jason does date on occasions, he doesn't seek people out for that purpose all that often unless they really spark an interest with him. But he does believe in love, and once he trusts someone he can be reasonably affectionate to varying degrees depending on their situation. Jason believes love and friendship are simply different levels of the same feeling, so those who do get close enough to fit in on any level of this scale are very important to him. So he can be reasonably ordinary about his affections towards others, as long as their situation isn't too complicated (Example: The entire bat-family). Also he appears to prefers women to men when it comes to romantic situations.

[Fighting] Jason is definitely a fighter for a lot of reasons. So honestly anything goes. I'm pretty open to having anything happen, the severity of injuries and of what I'd be okay with depends on if it's been discussed first though.

[Other Permissions] I would say yes to the telepathic mind readers, and I'm not too worried about fourth wall breakers. But I suppose I should say that they should limit it to that they simply know of Jason and his crew opposed to blurting out he's a comic book character. More for their sake really, he might not take kindly to knowing his entire life has been recorded down on paper for people's amusement.
